In collaboration with the Zimmerman Murals Class (more information here), the Ortiz Center sponsored a public panel presentation, discussion, and reception to discuss the controversial Zimmerman Library Murals by Kenneth Adams. Panel participants included representatives from several generations of activists, including university and community leaders who organized against the murals in the 1970s, 1990s, and today's student leaders. Each shared their experiences at UNM in relationships to the murals and their ongoing concerns with the murals' continued presence in the Zimmerman Library.

Participants included: Michael Trujillo (moderator), Joaquin Arquello, Moises Gonzales, Joshua Heckman, Neri Holguin, Jennifer Marley, and Beva Sanchez-Padilla. For the full event flyer click here.
