2022 Anthropology Colloquia Speaker Series Presents:
"Using Anthropological Skills and Perspectives Outside of Academia"
A talk by Marilyn London, Assisstant Research Professor at University of Maryland
"Anthropologists have a unique perspective on the world that can be used in many contexts. Even within our discipline, we study culture, language, biology, and history to understand humans from various points of view. The skills we develop to collect and analyze data, to make sense of the world, and to present it in a coherent way can be used in nearly any career context. From medical and scientific research, to teaching, from emergency management to mass disaster recovery, I'll discuss how anthropology prepared me for a varied career."
